Memories of Muir

Imagine the boundaries of your life defined by a wheelchair...

Now think what it means to gain access back into nature, to go places you once thought out of your reach. Access Adventure is a unique program that uses wheelchair accessible horsedrawn carriages to provide open space recreation and wilderness access for people living with the challenges of disability. The program is open to people of all ages with compromised mobility, not just wheelchair users, and there is no charge to participate.

Access Adventure is about freedom. When we are not limited by the challenges we face, we are free to challenge our limits.

"We focus on what is possible, not on what we have lost. The worst disability is a bad attitude." Michael Muir, Director

"Keep close to Nature's heart…break away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." John Muir
