Welcome to
Access Adventure

Enriching the lives of
people with disabilities
and other underserved
members of our
community by providing
outdoor recreation, open
space access, education
and therapy through a
working partnership with
horses and specialized
adaptive equipment.
Horses as service
animals.
Access Adventure utilizes specially trained
horses as service animals to engage
people with special needs and provide
open space access to enjoy the healing
power of nature.
Our programs serve the neurodiverse
students of Solano County, elementary
school students from throughout
Northern California, people living with
disabilities, people in recovery, and other
marginalized populations.
Our goal is to make all of our preserved
open-space lands accessible to the
broadest range of people.
Providing
adaptive
equipment to
access nature.
Access Adventure is expanding our focus to
reach a broader base of people in need.
Equine-facilitated therapy is not appropriate
for every person. Specialized adaptive
equipment that focuses on accessibility can
serve to meet the needs of the broadest
range of people. Our mission is to provide
the equipment that makes this possible.

Innovation drives
adventure.
Wheelchair-accessible
horsedrawn carriages provide
access for all people.
Pictured here is an innovative, wheelchair-
accessible wagon, designed for outdoor
exploration, ensuring everyone has the
opportunity to join in the journey and
excitement!
Get the Rush. Access Adventure is
America’s leading innovator of
wheelchair-accessible horsedrawn
transportation. Visit our Rush Ranch
headquarters on the third Saturday of
each month for “Get the Rush”. You
can learn more about Access
Adventure while enjoying a free tour
of our beautiful 2,070 acre preserved
open space land on one of our
accessible carriages drawn by our
beautiful Stonewall Sporthorses.
Anywhere Wild! For many years, we
have enjoyed multi-day outdoor
experiences in beautiful preserved
open space lands. Our well-trained
horses and adaptive equipment make
these experiences accessible for
people with mobility challenges and
other underserved members of our
community.
Safety and horsemanship training.
We offer weekly trainings for our all-
volunteer staff, teaching basic
horsemanship skills and safety
protocols for everyone working with
our beautiful horses and adapted
carriages.

We are program partners with Crescent
Moon Center, providing a unique, holistic
approach to recovery from addiction and
other trauma. This innovative program is an
experiential journey into recovery and
wellness. Our horses provide a meaningful
bridge to connection with the healing power
of nature.
Access Adventure collaborates with the
Solano County Office of Education, working
with neurodiverse students teaching job
skills using the ranch and our horses to build
life skills and confidence for future success.
Second, third and fourth graders from
school districts throughout Northern
California visit our Rush Ranch headquarters
every week during the school year to learn
Early California and Native American history.
All the students are also introduced to the
innovative programs of Access Adventure
and how we help the people of our
community.
Providing
specialized
adapted
equipment to
facilitate
accessibility for
all people.
Access Adventure is actively seeking grant
funding and other sources of revenue to
provide specialized adapted equipment to
make our Rush Ranch headquarters and other
properties owned by the Solano Land Trust a
national model of accessibility in a rural
environment.
We collaborate with the Solano Land Trust,
our Advisory Board and others to determine
what equipment or products are needed to
enhance accessibility on Solano Land Trust
properties (and beyond).
Training by appointment can be arranged to
“test drive” our Terrain Hopper, our NuStep
exercise machine, or take a ride on our
Thornlea wheelchair-accessible horsedrawn
carriage.
Our focus is to support the vision of our
Rush Ranch headquarters and other Solano
Land Trust properties to become a model
of accessibility in a rural/wild environment
